It seems very vulnerable to breakage or hands could touch it by mistake when turning it on and off

I went and got some scissors and hacked away for 5 minutes and then started to tear away till i got it open

If you do that you cant always fix the mistake

The wire needs to be shortened at the top to make it fit then you screw in the base
