Morrell starts with sobering facts only about 200 authors make a living from writing in america the bottom writers on the 150 bestselling books list only sell about a couple thousand copies books stay in print for an average of 18 months nonsold paperbacks go to the furnace stripped of their covers

I love morrells attitude about literature for instance when it comes to highbrow and lowbrow authors morrell isnt interested in authors who write to make themselves appear deep and intelligent but neither is he interested in authors who write just to make money
