Edited to add at approximately 5 months out the zipper broke on the case and my daughter is holding it together with a rubber band

At first we all thought it had problems but upon careful examination realized that the flute was wellpacked and had small pieces of cork under some of the pads and keys

Once those were removed it played well except for the d or e note

Our guess is that when she cleaned it with the pipe cleaner one of the protective pieces was still there and was dislodged by the cleaning cloth

The nickel will become discolored in places where your hand or lip touches it pretty consistently

It will take quite a while to discolor but once it does its pretty impossible to get that part shiny again
