Pros

This is the finest bike rack i have owned. Would recommend without hesitation. The design is basic but thorough. Initially looked into this because it was cheaper than the famous-name racks.

Kuat 2 bike rack works great with my 2014 prius. Works well on our outback and tundra (with a 2 adapter) too. Curt hitch recommends using their special strap with non tow loads so i use it with their strap.

With the extra fasteners, the rack never wobbles or rattles. There was almost no perceptible wobble of the bike rack or of the bikes themselves. No rack wobble due to hitch tightening knob and top tension knob.

Cradles with heavy duty rubber straps are easy to use and keep bike movement to a minimum. L-shaped, anti-sway 3rd strap is awesome.

This rack is everything it promises to be. Great bike grips. I am pleased by the fast response.

Cons

Uses a faulty rubber strap design. Has knobs to help from any wobble but it's completely worthless.

The thule aluminum 2bike rack costs 100 more weighs about 8 pounds more and doesnt have as clean welds

But for the money its a very nice useful rack

Shipping

My amazon order missed the estimated shipment delivery and i ended up getting one from a lbs

The amazon item did ship in the retail box which arrived much more damagedbeaten up than i would have liked

Three days later a got delivered 2 knobs and an allen key which i dont need anyway

This company sent out the part immediately

Packaging/appearance

First off when i opened the shipping box i was impressed by the solid effective packaging not a dent or blemish anywhere

Then when i got it loose of its packaging i saw it was solid tight beautifully designed and a wellcrafted product

Competitiveness

I read the reviews of thule and yakima racks and there were so many little niggles that i decided to try a different brand

This rack is a significant amount more expensive than other twobike racks

But i was still concerned id be paying 50 or so more than what appeared to be several other very similar and very suitable units

I looked at a few of the other 34popular brands34 thule yakima and swagman and learned about the kuat from a local bike shop
