Pros

For reading books, it beats my ipad pro on eye/reading comfort and travel connectivity. It is much more rugged and useful than other readers and even small tablets. E-ink technology is a lifesaver.

Quality

The size lack of glare and reliability has made it one of the best purchases i have ever made for myself

Love the screen ease of font size adjustment and very long battery life

It’s not a perfect machine doesn’t have a frontlight it’s slower and yes it’s older

0 plus and have used several other readers and kindle models but i know it will be a sad day for me when my trusty old dx finally dies

Price

Which thanks to low print numbers and publisher green results in books over 300 i will never pick up

I wish youd update the software even for a fee

So i guess i can say for the money i love it

Willing to pay a lot for a 2nd dx for my wife

Competitiveness

In 2011 kindle and kindle like devices were more or less an afterthought for publishers not a main target audience

Ps the demand for a dx seems likely eventually that another company will build something akin to dx and get around copyright laws

Some other companies like sony still make eink based readers with big screen and good performance
