The exterior of this hose is real metal and not plastic with painted metallic strips such as the crappy hose from the delta shower head i bought from rona earlier

It hangs loosely like a steel hose should

The only thing the was annoying was that even with the provided washer there was leakage where the hose attaches to the shower head

We had to first put some silicon adheasive on the end of the shower spout and inside the hose attachment which took care of the leaking

I thought it might be metal when i ordered but it is plastic with chrome coating
