Pros

This thing is an absolute beast when it comes to field filtration! When the pump becomes difficult, field strip the filter and clean it. Sand the exterior of the filter to restore flow if it’s clogged.

It's an add-on purchase, but it's cheap. b0007u0184. Came in very handy. I use a shirt or bandanna on the input side just to help separate large sentiment before it gets stuck in the mesh. It is worth every cent.

This is to be considered when backpacking. It fits well in my backpack and doesn't take up much room. It is not the lightest out there if you're backpacking, but if you don't mind the extra ounces, i think they are worth it for the durability.

Cons

Not worth the exorbitant expense for that lack of filtering ability. No tapering and the measuring tool looks to show no gaps. Most parts are aluminium but the casing is really just flimsy plastic.

Reviewer says it gets squeaky and hard to pump. Also leaks water around the plastic case when you pump.
