Pros & Cons
Pros
The disc table likes to repoition itself when tightening, but i found that tightening both sides in small increments helped. It is a single slot/bolt setup which wants to move or twist when tightening the mounting bolt thus changing your final adjustm... Read More
Heavy, but i don't plan on toting it around, and i vastly prefer that it stays in one place on the bench. The tables are cast iron - very sturdy.
It is perfect for irregular shaped items and for when you want to shape wood freehand. Platen is easy to remove for freehand sanding. Only other complaint is the sanding disk is either bent or warped.
Buying a jet sander was a painless move for me. The overall fit/finish is high at this price point and a welcome addition over the cheaper sanders i've used over the years.
The machine is quieter than i expected. Comes with a 100 grit belt and disk installed. The tool is quiet and runs very smoothly.
Cons
At this time i was miffed. Since jet tech support seems to be incapable or uninterested in solving my problem, my next action is to find a machine shop which will reface the disk. Theres $400 down the drain.

One major complaint from a knife making standpoint is the table was poorly designed for ease of changing belts which happens often in knife grinding
