Only negative is while they are easy to squeeze since they must be cleaned in a bucket of tank or aged water rather than under the tap returning them to the tank will result in some suspended particles

Note for cosmetic looks and space efficiency its filter efficiency is inevitably compromised when seated at the the corners of your tank

Just place it into the tank squeeze it a couple of times to get the air bubbles out otherwise it will want to float then just put it in the corner and turn the air pump on
