Pros

Husqvarna is the way to go for chainsaws. The model 455 is one that every homeowner should have on hand. Good for all of your groundwork and everything in-between.

Customer service is non-existent. Dealer says they no longer get reimbursed for warranty repairs on amazon purchased product. Had bought the saw from lowes and finally called them they refused to take it back because it was 2 days past the 30 day retu... Read More

Bar oiler leaked bar oil from day one. Oiler flow is insufficient at full position. Leaks like a sieve. Would also die when cutting horizontally and leaked excessive bar oil.

You have been warned as this thing is designed by tree hugging socialists, not lumberjacks. Even after about six or seven factory warranty repairs on each saw these are very difficult for me to keep running.

The chain brake was on when i disassembled it. It had no compression because the piston ring and piston were stuck in the cylinder.

Within five months the fuel line drains the tank when set on side for refueling or servicing. Now issue is not able to adjust carb compliant carb enough to get low idle high enough to run without dying.

Competitiveness

I bought the 455 rancher because i needed a more powerful saw and this one fit the bill

Its encouraging to know that we have companies which stand by their product and fixmytoys is to be commended

I dont know about the new models but the 2013 model i would put up against any top of the line saw anywhere

I have used many different brand of chain saws however when i bought my first husqvarna 455 rancher in 2004 that sealed the deal for me
