The far side of the door will look like a gift package with ribbon so probably not for an outside door

On a regular or larger door this isnt a problem because you can tighten it up but im not sure you could but i dont know this for sure either on a smaller than normal size door

When we put it on 1 below the top of door it couldnt close securely but shifting it so the top horizontal strap was closer to the top hinge allowed the door to close fully
