Pros

This is a good beginner to intermediate band saw. I am still a beginner at woodworking but this works very well for me. The saw is perfect for hobby shops to medium duty.

There would have been an extra charge for the truck to deliver to my house and use their drop tail gate, otherwise, you're responsible for unloading it from the truck. Fit and finnish is very good. Occhipinti hammond, la.

The only thing you have to assemble is the stand. The riser kit is easy to install, but the process involves separating the top and bottom halves of the cast iron frame, which is done with a single large bolt.

The roller guides for the blade are easy to adjust and keep the blade cool and steady.

Cons

There were problems with the machine from the outset. I have a policy not to deal with companies that infuriate me. When dealing with a company makes me want to pound my fist against the table i stop dealing with them.

Shimming the bottom wheel out would be an exercise in futility. This saw comes from the factory with wheels out of line, with a blade the doesn't cut and a table that warps and fence that can't be adjusted to within 1/64 of an inch. The 2 speeds are u... Read More

The top wheel wobbled excessively and the tracking adjust knob screw was bent about 30deg

The tire on the top wheel was misaligned so that the blade wobbled as it tracked

I ordered this saw on friday and it arrived on tuesday along with the riser kit

My saw arrived quickly at my local ups freight outlet and was very well packaged

Info on shipping this comes in from new penn freight

I dont know what amazon charged for shipping but for this model g0555 1434 ultimate band saw the shipping is free at grizzly

The packing was very good and instructions were clear and concise for assembly

It came very well packed and i was immediately impressed by its rugged cast iron frame

Upon unpacking the saw the 34wheels34 i had anticipated for the 34shop movearound34 turned out to be wheels that the blade runs on

An opinion only to be confirmed when my package was brought out to me with an entire corner of the box destroyed

Competitiveness

I looked at units from sears delta jet and many more and in the end i know i bought the best unit out there for the money
