The sheath has a welt that keeps the rivets from touching the blade and the blade from cutting the stitching. It holds its sharpness very well. No skewing of bit. The sharpening is a breeze.

The wood grain is perfectly straight, looks like it was oiled once or twice. Excellent feel in the hand.
