I think this may work better if there was a mouth guard of some sort

Although the application is fairly easy to paint the gel on your teeth it is not so easy to keep you mouth open for 20 minutes so as your lips dont touch eventually dissolve

Maybe if you have access to one of those dental devices that keeps your mouth open lips off your teeth this gel may have a better chance of working
