My major issue with it is that it is diffcult to get it correctly adjusted without using a mirror or asking your companion if it is on straight

By the way having a cape on your hat also helps to keep biting flies deer sand greenhead and horse flies from biting you on the back of the neck but it is not 100 effective

It is not at all effective on biting marsh gnats but perhaps spraying it with bug repellent as recommended in the instructions would work on them
