Pros & Cons
Pros
I have a couple that are well over ten years old and they are still holding up despite being outdoors most of the year. In the early years, they were made of metal, but now plastic.
Does not leak and has been durable. Easy to install.
Only problem is that i was repairing a hose which went from a hose reel to the faucet and the hose was not a standard width. Gilmour makes the best hose connectors. Last a very long time and can be switched from hose to hose.
Cons
Very disappointing product. Cracked and unusable within a week. Better off spending a few more dollars for the all metal option.
The thread depth on the female faucet is insufficient to adequately compress the washer supplied. Connector end is very shallow, barely screws onto spigot.
Highlights
Quality
The best i have ever purchased durable and seal with no leaks
This is an excellent product and will work well on most hoses
I have fixed numerous hoses with this and not one has failed at the repair
The thing is plastic so dont be the person that overtightens the screws so they strip the plastic
Price
This hose patch was inexpensive and easy to install
Saved me a lot of bucks instead of buying new hose
Shipping
I have prime free shipping while other merchants i have to pay additional for shipping

But there are heavy duty hoses that have a ridge in the liner
Posted by a reviewer on Amazon
I dont know why that ridge is there but it keeps the hose from slipping on this type of fixture
