Pros

It is good at restraining the thumb without incapacitating it completely. When the metal pokes through i use gorilla tape to stabilize it. Cheerfully, i explain why, what and where to get one!

Was prescribed this by my ortho doc for cmc arthritis. Adjustable velcro helps give a more customized fit. With one quibble, i find this a comfortable brace to wear.

Cons

This one is bulky in the thumb area. It is not compliant with ada. Ability to type or switch to the mousepad turns into a super slo-mo production.

A splint will only last as long as it's velcro. The velcro doesn't last very long - the strap around the thumb eventually starts to tear at the stress point. The remaining velcro also fails over time due to losing fuzz from the softer side.

The device is not what i expected. Not easy return as advertised. The reason is the one i received was defective. There are 3 ways to get a refund or a replacement.

There is staining on the fla from dirt that migrated through my gardening gloves. The push is rigid only at the cmc joint. The brace is no longer made or supported.
