The novel rambo is more talkative than the movie version. In the film, teasle is a mere cookie cut antagonist but here he is in many ways a contrasting equal to rambo.

David morrell's rambo is a trained and ruthless killing machine. Morrell implants the disassociated aspects of rambo's ptsd and exhaustion. It seems more fitting with the arc of the story.
