Going over cast iron pipe which has a rough outside surface it is important to have a tight fit

It didnt want to stretch over the surface in the cold very well so in my desire to radically shorten the time needed to spend in the crawlspace flooded from the gray water leak i preheated the rubber in a pan of hot water for about 5 minutes after dramatically loosening up the clamps
