The stiffening board is like a composite leather and doesnt look as if it would disintegrate if wet

I cut the fabric liner and although i cant remove the board it did create an additional pocket

Im going to hand stitch a hem so it wont unravel and sew 3 ministraps either grosgrain or elastic with snaps to close this new pocket
