If you want to grind your own coffee, you probably need to upgrade to a machine that includes a grinder on top. You can tamper with the machine to make sure it doesn't run out of coffee grounds.
The only weakness this machine had was the steamer. The milk texture is good, more the cappuccino style rather than a latte. It will remind you when it needs descaling, based on the hardness of your water.
The spectacular design makes it a veritable high-end objet d'art to astonish my guests. It also looks awesome on the counter. If i spent a little time cleaning and polishing the chrome, it looks almost new.
Would buy again in a heartbeat. Bought for the small size 6 years ago. My brother is also a espresso addict and he bought a competing well known brand.

Cons
The coffee it makes tastes terrible, the machine is extremely finicky, and it's just frustrating all around. When it does deliver liquid to a cup, the grounds are super soupy.
The pump is about $30. Splurge, get the new one. The machine is under warranty and they should repair it. For a pile of trash is not worth it.

If you leave it switched on it will turn itself off after a period of inactivity

This only seems to happens if i fill the tank while its attached to the machine so the simple fix is to remove the tank and fill it freestanding and then reattach it its never leaked when i do that
