The handle is too heavy for the pan. Cannot recommend this to anyone. Returned, very unstable.

It is a thicker carbon steel and the shape does a great job of directing the flame around the sides
Great wok for frying as it’s deep and does a great job holding temperatures
Don’t be dissuaded by reviewers who complained that their de buyer woks rusted that’s what carbon steel does without proper seasoning
After seasoning the pan a few times i did a vegetable stir fry test

I bought a cheap wok ring which makes all the difference
The other option is to buy one with some type of teflonlike coating which will flake off under high heat
Consequently it wasnt as stable as id like on the grates

I did season mine before i used it the first time but the deep black is just from cooking with it
