Pros
Filter works well without leakage of coffee grounds. Works perfectly with the standard chemex brewer. My pour over coffee maker has a metal filter, but it was a pain trying to clean it up.
Sometimes i'm too impatient to wait for the water to drip so i grab the corners to lift it up. No worries from a product standpoint, but likely a shipping/mishandling problem.
Cons
These are different and truly terrible. Due to chemex's cost cutting these are no longer the great filters they used to be. They are horrible compared to the white ones. The round filters are terrible.
Back to the percolator. Back to natural unbleached for me. I'm considering scrapping this product/company.

Instead lightly dampen the filter and place under the grounds in the portafilter to help with channeling

If you rinse the filter per the instructions which i find to be an annoying extra step it shouldn’t affect the flavor but it does seem that they could design something that doesn’t use so much paper

So i recommend just use the 3 sides towards the spout and try not to over think it like i did
