It does prevent sophie from backing out of her collar when shes leashed

However the xs stll seems slightly larger than is ideal for my tiny dog because the leashtab hangs down about 2 inches when shes not leashed

The loop on this collar is a bit smaller than on all my other martingales meaning the collar doesnt hang nearly as low when properly adjusted

Additionally the buckle allows us to put it onto dogs who are afraid of something going over their head like a sliplead making it a really good product for us to use in working with shy fearful or abused dogs in a gentle humane way by the way we do not give collar corrections the collar helps prevent bad situations for us
