Amazon warehouse great deal. Great bang for the buck. I am military and needed a scope that wasn't going to break my wallet.

The angled lens makes it easy to share viewing with friends when you have it set on the tripod. Be sure to get a quality tripod.

The celestron has good image quality only at 20x but at the higher magnifications the image deteriorates dramatically. Significant color fringing (chromatic aberration) * the visual with increased magnification.

The objective lens cap is junk and wont stay on

I used for the first time today and the amount of light and clarity blew me away

The price changes on amazon from 200300 so add it to your list and wait

Given how inexpensive it was couple of years ago it is a great scope

Unless youve got over 800 dollars for a scope id say this is a good one to start with

You can buy a 900 one if you want to avoid that

They boxed it securely and the case is really nice and sturdy

Competitiveness

Its 10x better than the 100 scopes and it has decent image quality

I just got back from a trip where i had this and my brother a much nicer higher end scope from another company

You can buy astronomical eyepieces from celestron or others if you need or want
