Pros & Cons
Pros
The ferrule on the trowel is affixed very well to the hardwood handle. The wood handle is recessed toward the middle, making a good fit for smaller hands. I like the handle angle, as it affords an ergonomic feel.
Cons
It is bent and i am unable to dig weeds. It's not like the original english shovels. It is porly made.
Highlights
Quality
A great well made tool, it will probably outlast me.
This fork is sturdy enough, comfortable to hold, and attractive.
The wood handle is rugged and shows no sign of cracks or wear even after a year's use and mostly being left outside.
I had to scramble this spring when my trusty garden trowel's handle finally broke.
Price
We were going to get a lee valley trowel for $5 more, but i think we will be more than happy with this one!
You'll be so very happy if you spend the money to buy this little shovel.
Not cheap, but it should last a hundred+ years.
Competitiveness
Take it from one who has bent a few of the cheaper trowels, this new one from spear & jackson is a winner.
