Pros

This pole telescopes more than those do - up to 11 1/2 feet. It can also be used to pin tarps, etc. Eliminates the need to use a tripod, and gives you floor to ceiling positioning for the laser level.

This rig does everything my laser jamb did but it is not as easy to use. Very beefy and durable unlike the poles for my zip wall.

The top several inches is a shock-type spring thingie. If your left hand is on the ribbed dividers (which are not locks like some painting poles) the right hand moves counter-clockwise to lock and clockwise to unlock.

Cons

Even with 2 people, a vise, and a pipe wrench the pole is still stuck. It also wobbles from the slightest vibrations. Used once. Collapsed pole. Went to reuse could not extended it.
