Pros

These canisters keep bugs out and food fresh. I live in the caribbean where humidity ruins all dry perishable goods. I know they are mouse or other critter proof.

Italian glass is heavy and durable. Rubber ring forms a perfect seal when the lid is clamped shut.

No better jar for storing my sourdough starter. Works great as a curing jar. Cute mason jar holds all my cotton balls.

This is great for canning whole carrots, asparagus, etc. Used for ferminting cabbage. Use it to infuse fruits with tim.

Jars made in europe are in metric sizes, and conversions in product listings are often approximate. These jars are just as nice as my le parfait ones but they're slightly cheaper. Buy them (or any european made jar) at tj maxx or a similar store.

Cons

One of the two jars has a completely uneven lip. It's wobbly, like someone deformed it while the glass was still malleable. Glass is very thin and hinge is very, very loose.
