The jar actually seems to make the whole blending process less loud maybe the material is different and absorbs the motors sound no idea

Being suspicious i did in fact test the new lid outdoors by blending water at high speed extra large smoothie setting to see if it would pop off and it did not

I cant say if this would make a difference it might since thick volumous liquids can create quite a buzz and its under that vibration that lids jimmy loose
