I thought of this machine as a miniature carpetupholstery machine and this was helpful as the degree of cleaning was directly proportional to obtaining very hot water at least 140 degree fahrenheit and also pretreating the fabric with spot cleaner which bissell supplied with the machine

I applied the spot cleaner and let it soak in for about 20 minutes ran very hot water into the left tank and proceeded to steam the upholstery and then thoroughly sucked up all water with the same applicator head that applied the steam just use the suction without releasing the hot water
