Grocery store yeast has been a crapshoot. Amazon brand is really fine and a lighter shade too. Use it for making cinnamon buns.

Its actually about 13 and truth be told im having better luck with this yeast for my pizza dough and bread than with the large 1 pound i recently purchased from a major brand
