One distinct advantage this air pad has over an air mattress is that if you are without a patch kit and it springs a leak you at least have a semiinflated pseudofoam pad and not stuck with a thin completely worthless piece of deflated plastic

If you spend more money on an expensive thicker foam mat you might find one thats next to gt next to nothing
