Pros
This is the kind of book you need to set the time aside to read sequentially. The only trouble is that when you've finished the book, you feel you want a reference to what you've just read.
This is a tutorial book on c++, but it goes well beyond the basics. It is a great book for c++ novices (including me) it covers a range of topics which would be relevant for solving most problems.
It packs all the important bits of c++ in under 300 pages. It just makes you a good c++ developer.

Cons
The author jumps around a lot, confusing a beginner. The author begins to use complicated terms and expressions that no beginner would understand. There are many free tutorials on the net which explains things much clearer.
Probably the most inexcusable chapter in the book is chapter 8. To someone who wants 'accelerated learning' as the title of the book promises, this is soul destroying and a waste of time. The book stays rather superficial and seems to skip on apparent... Read More

I would not recommend this book to nonprogrammers some programming experience is necessary from the outset

The goal is to learn the main features of c by working out at least the examples if you dont work out the examples then there is no point of buying this book

Until chapter 13 the book is easy to follow but the last two chapters 14 and 15 respectively are of a higher level than the others and could require some extra rereading

Ive seen other books that try to teach you c from the ground up not giving useful advice until theyve bored you with pointers and memory management and so on
