There is a knurled collar just in front of the rubber grip which tightens onto the tip

With a weak iron you risk having to leave the iron in contact too long damaging the electronics in the process

The tips are very secure it’s impossible for them to fall out because they are held by a tube that overlaps the thick body of the tip and the tube is secured over the top of the heating element with a knurled collar which has flat edges
