This unit is charged by induction not requiring any metallic contact points between the base unit and the light housing which is helpful as you do not have to worry about this device not charging if the contacts become dirty or are not properly seated

It arrived in a box covered with oriental characters no english at all

The unit can remain plugged into the wall even when fully charged as it stops charging

It can be used as a thermal infrared sense light even when there is no power outage but the onoff button can close this function if not desired
