The only niggle and a very small one roast potatoes were not cooked enough quite good on outside but hard inside

Arrived at 1845 on a saturday night not very busy at the time starters were served good start had to wait until 2030 for the main course the excuse was a staff shortage meal arrived the steak and gammon were ok but no veg options not even peas just steak and chips that was it very poor for the money paid the other 2 meals sea bream were over cooked and very dry during our time there no one came to our table to ask if all was okay complained to management who deducted the sea food from the bill maybe this was a one off but i will not recommend this place

Think it must of been a christmas day hangoverfor the railway inn as our experience on boxing day was very poor indeed

Staff did not appear to be happy about working boxing day as not very chatty and felt like they wanted to get cleared up and go home

Noticed on leaving that the trip advisor stickers from 2014 were still on show i believe this to be misleading considering its under new management and staff

Please give them a ring beforehand to make sure there is overparking available as i would imagine it gets busy

What we didnt know was right behind the weary ploughman is the steam train station where you can catch a train to various train stations
