I use this as a spot treatment for occasional hormonal breakouts and find that it dries out the pimples immediately. I am guilty of picking at my pimples from time to time but with this serum I don’t get skin discoloration from irritating my skin and also no scarring. I got the mini of this on sale, thinking, "What have I got to lose? " Apparently, $15. I used this nightly for longer than 1 week and didn't really see any developments in the hyperpigmentation on my neck - but I didn't write it off yet. However, one rainy day when I wasn't going anywhere, I thought, "Why don't I put this on now too, just to see? " So I did. I put it on my neck late in the morning. and early that evening I had filmy stuff coming off my neck! It was almost as though the stuff never fully absorbed into my skin! First I want to say how much I love Murad products. I am a huge skincare lover and this one fell short for my skin type and needs. I have an olive complexion and one stubborn sun spot on my cheek years old. This product states with its hydroquinone and glycolic acid it can lighten dark spots and help skin cell turnover rate. However, after nightly use for four weeks I have not noticed a difference. It tingles when you apply and does smell odd. My skin now feel dry and has way more redness that it ever does.
