I did a good amount of research into this cream's story as it sounded a lot like a marketing ploy, however, it actually is made in a Czech Trappist monastery. I decided to try a few samples as people with dry skin like mine rave about it but unfortunately, it broke me out. After looking into the ingredients, I'm not surprised as it contains irritating oils like lemon peel. In the end, I wouldn't recommend this cream because it contains known irritants and the ingredients don't add up to this price tag, you're paying for monks to make this by hand. One additional consideration is it's in a jar, which depending on what preservatives are used, can cause bacteria to develop.  Read Less

Texture: Buttery and velvety. Warm up between fingers and gently pat and smooth all over face. The beeswax needs to be warmed up before applying or it is rather difficult to use. Ingredients: Fresh and lovely. Simple beeswax makes for a great carrier oil for the rest of the ingredients. The rose is great for soothing, and softening. Has an added bonus of redness reduction. Lemon is a great emulsifier, and it brightens the skin. What it felt like: when the product is melted and then applied to the skin, it's akin to using rose wax or beeswax on your hands. A little bit goes a long way, as in just dabbing your fingers against the product, melting it between your fingers, and then smoothing on. After being applied my skin felt smooth and velvety. Not a dewy looking complexion as a finish, but matte instead. Use after a good product that exfoliates and the skin is ultra smooth. Effects: Brighter looking skin, softer and smoother. Akin to using Lush's Ultrabland cleanser, but in a moisturizer. I describe myself as a skin care and cosmetics junkie, with the love for super dewy feeling products. I have skin that varies with the seasons, but in the summer (time of purchase) I have oilier and normal skin. This product does my skin justice. This moisturizer is VERY thick, creamy, and greasy, by all means in a very good way, especially for really dry skin. Unlike LaMer which I have tried, and it too is very thick and balm like, however it’s also very pore clogging, and suffocating, as I felt it just sat on my skin and didn’t absorbed. Unlike this cream, it’s all that before mentioned, except it doesn’t clog your pores and it doesn’t just sit on top of the skin. It really absorbs into the skin, and I wake up still looking hydrated and glowing. It is pricey, but it’s worth it. Especially for winter, and those with extremely dry skin!  Read Less
