I usually use oil based scalp serums which tend to be heavy and can really only be used at night as an overnight scalp treatment. This is waterbased though, and I find it absorbs almost immediately into the scalp and roots and makes my hair feel so full and soft. It was honestly worth the price and a little goes a long way. i've been trying for years to grow my hair out, and then my friend recommended this product me (she used it after chopping a foot off her hair and regretting it). While this doesn't really advertise itself as being for hair growth, it's done just that for me. I've been taking biotin, viviscal, prenatal vitamins etc for years and none of those things have helped as much as this has. I don't have issues with dry scalp or dandruff so i can't speak to the effectiveness of this product for those issues. But, if you're looking for something that smells incredible (very essential oil spa like, not at all synthetic sweet smelling), makes your scalp feel good, and will make your hair grow, this it it. Even if it were double the price I'd still be buying it - it's that effective. **been using this for about 3 months now only when i wash my hair (2-3X/week) and I still have lots left.  Read Less
