Once you set the goal temp based on the type of meat youre cooking a little alarm will go off when your meat has reached that temp

It even has a timer but i found out you cant use the timer and see the temp

The only reason i gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because i wish it had some kind of wireless remote or timer so i wouldnt have to get up to see the temp or screen

Best thing of all and the reason i purchased it is gone are the days of opening the oven door to check the temperature of the meat and thereby losing a lot of the heat from the oven
