And you can actually see both views at the same time on your rear-view mirror so its not inconvenient to see what's going out your back while your driving.

Even the back up camera work without connecting the to the reverse light.

Of course you want to connect it to the reserve light in order for the back up camera to turned on automatically.

The rear view camera is an optional installation that comes with a second camera for the back up but i have a hatchback so didnt see the need.
