    The biggest being the odd limited viewing angles on the display

    Also the sensor for the backlight is on the top of the clock so it will never come on any any room where there is any discernable light bouncing off the ceiling or coming from any nearby lamp or tv

    That said the light is plenty bright in a dark bedroom making the display easily visible even across the room if probably placed to avoid the viewing angle problem
