I mean most of the stuff i wanted to turn on and off remotely have to be powered and then switched on or otherwise started before theyll do what i want so simply powering them on remotely doesnt accomplish the desired effect

Put it in the bottom plug and the top one is blocked

Stick it in the top plug sticks up past the outlet plate and the bottom is effectively blocked for all but the most lowprofile plugs
