This always wakes me up because i sleep on my side facing the bathroom and im somewhat light sensitive so when i saw this item come up on prime day i took a chance on it

If it doesnt sense your motion for a while about 15 seconds it shuts off which can leave you in the dark if youre in the middle of a standup type of operation however a wave of the hand or any other part of your body will turn it on again

I suppose you could use the on switch if youre using it for an emergency lamp but for the most part all you need to do is leave it set for motion detection

How long the batteries last though is anybodys guess

Since the light is an led i would guess a set of batteries will last a long time however the circuit does have to stay active to detect motion so its really not so cut and dried
