I selected the gold color and it worked great out of the box.
They come completely assembled, so all you do is take it out of the box and plug it in.

To start with the art deco look is just cool to me…it has a place on top of it a little larger than a quarter that you touch to turn it on which is a nice feature rather than the whole lamp being touch sensitive causing it to accidentally turn on if you brush against it
