I cant find any issue with this product
720 vs 1080 i do not regret saving the going with the 720
The 720p quality is fine during the day at night without ir doesnt give the same detail
The quality of the image is good though the connection is flaky and sometimes do not work
Price
Im sure the 1080p version is better but not sure if it is worth the cost difference
Competitiveness
Easy to set up works flawlessly and is far cheaper than a dropcam
Its highly recommended especially for the price point
Just purchase a 20ft nest cord and some sticky double sided tape and you can really set this anywhere in the home
With a dropcam i could still rotate when mounted which was very nice

Im usually pretty skeptical about third party electronics and was very close to pulling the trigger on 400 worth of nestcams which wouldve ran another 180 annually for cloud storage which i found out isnt really necessary

The feature that surprised me after purchasing the yi home cam is that it does store footage in the cloud for a couple days so to speak when your motion senor is activated

So long as you have somewhat of a straight shot not mounted on the ceiling you can crop the sensitive area to just the top 14 of the screen which is going to be in the field of view for any door that opens or person walking through
