The locks and other hardware seem solid enough although if you put so many skis or boards in there that it can only clamp down to the first notch when you shut it it seems a bit worrisome just because it looks like it might be less secure but i took the skis on the freeway and there was no problems at all

I am able to fit my boards in my car 2010 prius with the seats down but i have two large dogs so two dogs and surfboards dont all fit

This has no negative impact on the looks or usefuless of the product and was merely a brief nuissance since the instructions failed to mention this

My other tiny nit of little consequence was the protective padding on the hooks needing to be stuckon instead of being factory attached

This is no issue since the bars make no sound anyway but if you are going for that look beware

Bought this for my 2011 jetta great quality contrary to an earlier review i read it does come with good quality full color instructions now still look to be just printed and stapled in the corner so not an actual book but theyre definitely not potato quality anymore
