Highlights
Quality
This product is exactly as described and you cant beat the quality for the price
Works great in my custom 3d printer
I didnt have any quality problems with the board or usb cable
But that only confused me more about why i couldnt communicate with the bootloader
Price
This board worked great for my application and at a very good price
I ordered 4 of these because the price was right at 11
So i guess the price jumps around quite a bit
Shipping
However shipping seemed a bit less that i expected as it was sent in a soft pouch mailer instead of a cardboard box
Packaging/appearance
The units appear well made but the stackable headers have slight misalignment probably because of the poor packaging for shipment
One didnt work out of the bag
Competitiveness
I used this to build a smart sprinkler timer with smartthings integration
Works just like my official arduino board and a fraction of the cost
I needed more gpio than the uno board could provide so i purchased this mega

So i then dug out my usbasp programmer to connect directly to the ispjtag pins instead of going through the onboard usb and bootloader

At least the one on this board matched the official one

The solution was that i needed to tell avrdude to use the stk500v2 protocol instead of arduino protocol by setting avrdude ard programmer to stk500v2 in the makefile

I made that change and presto it talks flawlessly over the bootloader and onboard usb interface

The bootloader on the uno and promini boards use the arduino protocol but this mega2560 board needs the stk500v2 protocol so be sure to properly set that
