Fake reviews skew the rating for the product. Just mashes bike cables. It frayed cable and crushed housing.

I got these to use with the compressionless brake cable housing and they do a good job
Good product for the price it cuts shifter cables and housing easily without fraying or shredding
This product quality is not so different from the expensive one i had before
If you build cables and bikes for a living i feel like you get what you pay far so buy quality brand tools

Except for the packaging being cut does what its supposed to do

They dont include a crimper but that was not an issue since i just used a pair of household pliers for the cable caps
I already had a pair of linesman pliers with a crimper built in and those did a fine job crimping the included ferrules
It would be nice if it had a cableend crimper but the cutting end works if you are careful

I had a brake cable that was so frayed at the end that i couldnt pass it through the hole in the barrel adjuster on the brake caliper

I almost bought the offering from park tool just to be safe but ended up going with this since im not a professional and this is not an item i use very often

I could guess that they may not be up to the standards of the more expensive brands but for home use i cant see they are any worse

Redid my two shifter cables and it cuts through cables like butter and through the housing like a kitchen knife through a raw carrot

The blades are not perfect and if you dont hold the housing firmly the cutter can twist
