Wilton silicone pie crust mold, 6-cavity is a clever device, and produces unique patterned edging and lattice work for pies. The mold itself is quite thick and durable feeling, and has good detail in the patterning.

Use ribbons of molded pie dough to dress up a pie. This works perfectly for medium and smaller pies though as you can cut the ribbons in half or just use one full strip. The results can be good or bad; it really depends on the dough.

Cons

The mold is only 8 inches long. That is too short to weave a lattice crust on a standard pie.

Quality

I bake a lot of pies and im very pleased with the options for attractive and unique designs this mold can make

This is a very well made and easy to use product

With the wrong dough the results can be disappointing

I have never been able to make the cute pies with the fun crusts or decorative tops

Price

Great product good price easy ordering and great delivery

Packaging/appearance

I used a wide blade knife to scrape off the excess dough

Not a tip you pretty much have to do that or you will never get the crust out of the mold intact

I didnt use any flour or nonstick spray just cut a piece of dough rolled it and then pushed it into the mold

So i had to connect pieces of dough together

This is a thick silicone mold with three different edge patterns

The directions with the mold say to use an egg wash to make the shaped edge stick whether this is necessary also depends on the dough being used as some are sticky enough to not need the egg wash as an adhesive

It would have been better if this mold had been double the length instead of repeating shorter strips of the same pattern

If your dough is on the wet side the mold wont work well

And depending on your pie dish this may not fully reach the edges for lattice work
